curls and donuts

yesterday morning, as i was getting everyone dressed, rebekah asked if i had a curling iron. she wanted me to curl her hair. this girl has NO body in her hair - it's SO straight. we've tried to curl it before and it just doesn't work. but, i was feeling "nice" so i dug out the curling iron (it's amazing i could find it that quickly!), turned it on and curled 3 little pieces of her hair. she walked around like she was a beauty queen for the morning. when i picked her up from school, she was upset because no one noticed. probably because by the time she got there - there was no curl left.

well, as we were taking baths last night, she asked if i would curl it again this morning and curl ALL of it. i said, if she got up and got dressed quickly in the morning, we would do as much as we had time for. when i went in to kiss her goodnight late last night, i noticed that she didn't have her pj's on - she had her clothes for today on! the ones that were laid out on her floor. because she wanted more time for me to curl her hair. so cute!

this was her heading out the door this morning...i sure hope someone notices today!



oh, and right as i was throwing bowls and cups around the kitchen to begin "breakfast" (cereal), our doorbell rang! it was a box of donuts from our friends around the corner! there was some SERIOUS excitement around here...and those donuts disappeared faster than any cereal i've ever fed them! so fun! thanks, Remi!!!
