"mom, are witches bad?"

me - "umm..some witches are good" - trying to avoid talking about the "bad" ones

"well, if there are bad witches, what do the bad witches do?"

me - "umm..sometimes they talk in an ugly voice" - lame, i know

"do they sweep you away?"

me - "what?!?" - totally NOT getting his train of thought

"you know, with their sweeper things. do they sweep you away with them?"

i mean, right. of course. i've NEVER thought that. but, i can see how you might. i told him no - they use those to fly. but that's it's just pretend anyways and there aren't any real witches like that. i almost asked him where he thought the witch would sweep him away to, but then thought better of it. there's no telling where his brain would have taken us!
