pat had an indoor soccer game at 11:30 pm last night. needless to say, i wasn't planning on being awake when he got home. well, i woke up this morning and he's sitting on the big chair in the family room (the same one in the picture from sunday watching football) with no shirt on and a sling and ice on one shoulder. he dislocated it. drove himself to the emergency room. they knocked him out to put it back in and a friend from the team drove him home at 2 am. i wake up at 5:30 to go running and find that scene! a little hard to take in when i'm half asleep.
so, you would assume he's laying on the couch, right? no. he's at work. the drugs they gave him have him so hyped up that he hasn't slept at all. so he figured he'd go into work for a few hours - get things under control and then come home and sleep once the drugs wear off. he's in quite a bit of pain. not sure how he's going to get anything done. but i'm sure he will. he's used to pain after his achilles tendon ordeal.
anyways, that's what's going on here!

Ouch - I know this injury well. Pat and I seem to be on the same injury plan. I also injured my achilles and dislocated my shoulder. Tell Pat there is no need to copy :-)
I have a lot of experience with this (shoulder) if he has any questions. Let Deb tell you the story about my shoulder popping out at 2:00 in the morning on Christmas eve :-(
Bob Norberg
i am speechless...when Bob dislocated his shoulder the last few times, he went white and passed out and I had to call 911...so for Pat to have driven himself to the ER freaks me out....all this happened while you were sleeping??? Unbelievable....
oh that is awful! I know shoulder injuries to well. Andy had surgery of couple of years ago and boy was that an ordeal. Let me know if we can do anything to help. You would think these boys would learn that they are not spring chickens anymore. Good luck and I hope Pat is feeling alright.
Oh my goodness. Poor Pat!! I can imagine that was quite the shocker this morning. I hope he gets some rest today and is able to control the pain. I will be thinking of you guys.
omg - crazy! please tell him that we hope he feels better soon!
