about 5 minutes ago i went to get the camera out of my beach bag to get ready to put in the diaper bag for heading out to dinner tonight. it was still in the plastic bag i had put it in...but there was also a lot of water in the bag. apparently it got confused with the other bag "to collect seashells in". so, it's dead. i have no idea if i can get the pictures off the card. and i'm in shock. any tips, recommendations, etc on digital cameras?? i need a new one, like, 5 minutes ago!

Oh I am so sorry! I sure you must feel lost without. I have no idea if you can recover anything but I would take out the momory card and let it dry out. Maybe when you get back you can take it somewhere and find out. Good Luck.
courtney - i totally dropped my digital camera in the pool at my parent's house. take EVERYTHING out of it - battery, memory card, everything you can. then, open up every part you can (battery flap, lens, etc.)...especially the flap for the batteries...and just try to air it out. mine wouldn't work for over 24 hours, but i just left it totally open and eventually it dried up and started working again. the memory card should be fine though no matter what...you could also try a hair dryer on no heat - you don't want to add more humidity in there. good luck!!! i feel your pain - believe me! i about died when i picked mine up off the pool floor!
