we are leaving tomorrow for a week. we are going to Virginia Beach to stay overnight with our good friends, the Schrodts (my friend, Katy, from high school and her family.) then, we head to the Outer Banks on Sunday to stay in a wonderful house with 5 other families that we know from college for a week. we are excited. i've been packing all afternoon and night. except for when i finished this random project (because it SHOULD have been high on my priority list today, right??) i got some wood, painted it with that chalkboard paint, and hung it on the wall! i like them!
we will put our "memory verse" for the week on this one in the dining room

pat got home from work last night VERY late - after i had turned my light off...which was 11 pm. he will likely be there as late tonight. so, we took a picnic dinner to his work and ate with him so the kids could see him (and so he could eat dinner before midnight!) at least we get to go on vacation tomorrow...i think these late nights are worth it!
on the way home from pat's work, rebekah fell asleep. it's been a long, BIG week for this little girl. i think she'll sleep good tonight.

I LOVE the chalkboard paint!! We've started our memory verse of the week this fall too - but I just have them on construction paper. What a cute idea!!!
And by the way, Pat has a GREAT view from his office! He must be pretty important! :)
