twice in the last 12 hours! so, yesterday afternoon it stormed, it was over, the sun came out. we ate dinner a bit early and went for a walk..to the duck pond. i was talking on my phone to a friend in nc and didn't observe the clouds changing from light blue to BLACK. i realized it once i was squinting to see my kids because it was so dark. the clouds were ROLLING in BLACK as could be! i think i told my friend bye on the phone, threw the kids in the stroller and told rebekah to ride her bike as FAST as her little legs could go. i took off in a dead sprint (as much as you can pushing a double jogging stroller). we made it to the gazebo that's in the path about halfway to our house. we all ran in the gazebo and even fit the stroller and bike in there. it started POURING (and lightning and thunder - it was very unsafe). it was a test of me acting like everything is fine and this is fun. the kids, surprisingly, weren't scared. they truly were looking to me for how they should react and i was fine (on the outside.) i called pat to let him know (he was still at work - 45 minutes away at least) and to let him know my cell phone battery would die soon in case we didn't get home before him. we waited for 30 minutes (that gazebo felt pretty small pretty quick!) then we just ran the rest of the way home. it wasn't raining as hard and the thunder and lightning had pretty much gone away. we were soaked, but all got in a nice warm bath. my legs were shot.
then, this morning. i wake up and look outside. no rain. the ground is even dry. we head out for our run. 20 minutes into it it starts sprinkling. it was a pretty steady rain by the time we were done at 40 minutes but there was no thunder or lightning so at least it wasn't dangerous. i plan on staying in my nice warm house for the next few hours!

Yikes...Lindsey would have come unglued being out in the thunderstorm...she hates being in them when we are safe in the house! Glad you all are ok.
