ok. so you know the story in the bible...Moses going to Pharoah and saying, "Let my people go!" over and over and God keeps sending the plagues and Pharoah finally lets the people go, they cross the sea (that God split open for them) and, wow, what a huge God we have, right?
well, i was reading the beginning of the story this morning. first of all, Moses was a shepherd (just out in a field with sheep all day) for 40 years (!) and then God says to him, "Go and deliver my people." And Moses goes...he has a couple questions, but wouldn't we all? God spells it out, Moses obeys. He goes before Pharoah and does what God told him to do and what happens? Pharoah says, "NO!" and the people that Moses was trying to deliver and help are now being punished even more because of Moses' request. i've never stopped to think about Moses' feelings, etc at this point in the story. we have the privilege of knowing the end of all these stories. Moses didn't. yet he continued to follow Him and obey Him...and the end result WAS miraculous and so much more amazing than it would have been if Pharoah had just released them from the get-go.
it just struck me. how many times have i asked and God has given me a different answer than i was hoping for...only to eventually work it to be SO much better than i could have even imagined?? HE IS FAITHFUL. HE IS GOOD. AMEN.

Thanks for the great reminder and wonderful way to approach these stories that we are all too familiar with. Moses' faithfulness to our faithful God is a great example to follow. I'm in the "middle" of some of my own stories right now....so that is an encouraging message.
