"The Stuff of Prayers"
This is the real challenge of our spiritual lives as parents:
to take our distracting thoughts, not to mention the distracting nursing (over for me in this season...at least for now!), dressing, schoolwork, sibling fights (amen!), family vacations, baths, stories, meetings, and bedtimes and make of them the prayers that are our lives.

oh, this hits my heart in a tender place. i am always re-evaluating and trying to make "wise"decisions with my time (which means my whole family's time...the time Pat and I have together is less if i need to run an errand at night, the less time we have together as a family if i make a commitment for us to be somewhere, and on and on). it's a constant struggle for me. yes, there are "fun" things to do...but sometimes we get so busy having "fun" that we aren't BEING together and GROWING together. but then there are just "things" that have to be done...running errands, doing laundry, cleaning the bathrooms...Lord, help me to bring you into all the moments of our day. sorry, this was random, but it was good for me to type out...
